I'll repeat it again. The minimum wage hurts young people, especially those deemed "at risk", the most. "At risk" kids come in all colors and ethnicities.

Another reason I don't believe you live in California. You are stuck in a previous generation when America was mostly white and black. California is a majority minority state. Hispanics make up the largest "group" in the state. I believe Asians even outnumber blacks. If you lived here you would know that. Yet you think the state and country is only white and black.

The people who think a company exec deserves the incredible salaries they make, are the kind of people who vote for a guy like trump. The fact is execs set their own salaries. They have a compensation board that sets their rates and the exec populates it and other execs sit on it. That pretty much guarantees rising salaries and bonuses. As showed during the banking crisis, they will get paid even if they crash the company or bankrupt it.

Execs are not inventing the business. They just step into a slot that was previously filled by a different over paid exec. The higher you go in a corporation, the less you actually have to do. Nowadays they don't even pay for the bad times. They can just move to the next corporation for even more money.

I think it was Galbraith who said top exes are not the best and brightest. They are the guy who was head of a fraternity in college., The glad hands guy who can schmooze and klss ass.

The people who think a low skilled worker deserves pay higher than the skills they offer or what the job they do requires is an idiot. The living wage concept focuses on businesses paying more because someone exists. If you can't make it on what you offer in skills and for which an equivalent wage to those skills is being paid, spend your time bettering yourself rather than complaining that someone owes you more than you're worth.

If those workers you want to hand more than they're worth are that good, why aren't they the executives. Have you ever talked to one of them in a Walmart. If they didn't have their name on a tag, most would forget it and more than half can't read it.

Businesses are in the business to make a profit. Since running it successfully is what does that, kissing ass has nothing to do with it. You're jealous because despite kissing ass, those in charge realized you are just too stupid for much of anything.

So do "non Trump voters" want government restriction on CEO pay? Isn't that part of what made corporations offer CEO's more stock options which has resulted in higher pay, legislation trying to limit it?

Without a place to work, there are not workers. The companies don't hire the workers first then hire the executives. You seem to believe it's the other way around.

If a worker quits, because that's what they do if they claim to go on strike in my state, they can easily be replaced that day because it isn't hard to find someone with low skills. That, alone, tells you something.

Workers do get profit sharing. It's called a wage for the skills they offer. If they want more, work their way up. If they can't, either accept that they are a dime a dozen and STFU.

If a bunch of analyst at a firm go on strike you think an investment firm can't find new analysts? If a number of cashiers at Safeway go on strike you think Safeway can't find new cashiers?

The process to find new analysts would take longer than the process to find a new cashier. There is a reason for that.

And CA is a majority/minority state with GDP growth above the national average, and has created more jobs and businesses than any other state since raising taxes in 2013. CA now has the fifth largest economy in the world. Not bad for a bunch of Hispanics, Asians, and liberals.
