When Fox News Channel celebrates its 22nd anniversary this weekend, it will undoubtedly toast to the recent July-September period, when it scored another strong quarter in Nielsen TV ratings. The cable news network saw its primetime viewers grow 14 percent above Q3 2017, thanks mostly to Sean Hannity’s arrival at 9 p.m.

“Hannity” made FNC the only cable news channel to grow in the advertiser-coveted 25-54 demographic year over year, with Fox experiencing a 3 percent boost in 8-11 p.m. ET averages.
CNN and MSNBC both declined double digits — down 12 percent and 10 percent, respectively — there.

CNN also shed total viewers versus Q3 of ’17, though MSNBC grew its overall audience comparison by 6 percent. Kudos to Rachel Maddow & Co. for their own accomplishment.

A) I didn't vote for Hillary
B) The Kardashians are also a highly rated show
C) Fox gave up on journalism. So did CNN and MSNBC. No one should brag about anything on any of those networks. Fox is a GOP campaign arm.

To each his own what people choose to watch. I don't watch any of the cable news channels. Just not my cup of tea. But it's impossible to not read about them and what they show. Considering CNN is basically 24/7 Trump and most of it against him, why would folks choose CNN over MSNBC? What differentiates the two? (not a rhetorical question)

They're really about the same now. MSNBC used to be much more liberal than CNN - it probably is still more the left overall, but CNN has gone all in on anti-Trump. Not quite the same thing as being liberal.

Fox is the opposite end of the spectrum now. Nothing "fair & balanced" there anymore, not that there ever was. They take all of their cues from the WH and GOP.

No - by liberal, I mean liberal. MSNBC is a liberal network.

We don't have news networks anymore. We have political networks.
