Right, so you set a moving bar for yourself that you then shift depending on how the debate is going for you at any given time.
That moving bar is "responsible gun owner".
Problem is, that's bullshit. Everyone is a responsible gun owner until they're not.
Unlike guns, cars have to be registered, insured, regularly inspected, and you have to pass tests and pay fees to drive them. You also can't just sell your car to anyone without transferring the pink slip, and all automobiles are subject to something like 100 different safety standards. Also, there are seatbelt laws, speed limits, and safety standards and requirements.
Guns have none of that.
So if you want to compare guns to cars, fine. Just be prepared to have the awkward conversation about how cars are subject to way more regulation and laws than guns.
Well, we make all drivers insure their vehicles and themselves. We make all drivers register their cars. We make all drivers subject their cars to yearly inspections. We make all drivers pass tests in order to get a license to drive. We also have seat belt laws, speed limits, and safety standards that have been established.
Guns have none of that.
So your argument is bullshit, just like your beliefs.
You can, but then when you start drilling down into the specifics, find that almost all other consumer products are subject to far more oversight and regulation than your little shitty guns, loser.
