Residents of Syrian city pelt retreating US troops with food

Scenes in Kurdish city demonstrate sense of betrayal amid rushed US withdrawal

Residents have pelted apparently retreating US troops with food as they drove through a Kurdish-dominated city in Syria.

A video by a Kurdish news agency, posted on Monday, shows a convoy of US armoured vehicles driving through Qamishli. Angry residents pelted the vehicles, shouting “No America” and “America liar” in English.

“Like rats, America is running away,” one man shouted in Arabic. Another shouted obscenities and talked of babies in Kurdish-held Syria who had died in the Turkish offensive.

The scene encapsulated the Kurds’ feelings of betrayal and added a new indignity to a US withdrawal that has been rushed and involved several close brushes with Turkish-backed forces.

Putin must've LOVED watching that on RT and Sputnik news

his efforts to control Syria and boost ISIS presence in the region are paying off in spades

nice work GOP, we won't forget

No, Trump isn’t Bringing Troops home: Not those in Syria, or any of the 60,000 in the Mideast

Although Trump keeps talking about bringing the troops home from the Middle East, that isn’t what he is doing.

There are some 60,000 US troops in and around the Middle East. There is no prospect of any significant number of them “coming home” any time soon.

In fact, Trump just sent nearly 2,000 troops to Saudi Arabia after the attack, attributed by many to Iran, on the Abqaiq oil processing facility.

I guess the difference between Syrian Kurds, whom he abandoned, and Saudi Arabia, to which he’s sending more troops, is about 9 million barrels a day of oil.

who's tune was Obama marching to when he decided we needed to overthrow Assad?.....he's always been a friend to the Paleo-simians, I would think he would be your hero.......why do you want to overthrow him?.....

Izrael's tune. Any US dance in the Middle East is to Izrael's tune.

The Palestinians' plight didn't change during Drone Man's regime. He objected to any further Izraeli crimes against humanity- but he did nothing to rectify or punish those already committed.

Where they belong, having, for once in a way, made no ludicrous promises to anyone.
well i agree on the ludicrous promises part - staying in Syria as a defensive force - basically dependent on air cover for protection is a good way to get killed; or an ineffective way to stop Turkey

You let people get killed in great numbers on your side and then ran away: we weren't there in the first place. Right?

Turkey smirky . Trump is charged with protecting those areas of illegally-occupied Syria, including the Golan- over which his pal, Rupert Murdoch, has oil and mineral ' rights '. In exchange Murdoch's Fox News strives to keep Trump in power. That's as far as any ' defensive ' actions on Trump's part goes.
In short, it's in Fox News' interests to keep America at war and in Trump's election interests to oblige.

And leftest Americans pelted troops returning home to America from Nam, Kerry said they “cut off ears, cut off heads, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, and razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Ghengis Khan.”

That's only the atrocities that we know about. They were still at it in Iraq.

Or some personal monetary thing that the Saudis hold over Trump's head.
