Cameras in the classroom

Feedback loop? Damn why I didn't think of that?

The movie "Speed" is an excellent example of that.

People can lean by watching themselves. It should be a learning experience, not torture. There’s the security angle too. Some asshole has the classroom hostage and the camera would see it and record it even if he later shoots it out.

There’s also the psychological aspect as seen with police, which is why I support 24/7 body cams on police on patrol and cameras in their stations.

Being watched by others eliminates the effect of emotional arousal on inhibitory control
The psychological effect of being watched by others has been proven a powerful tool in modulating social behaviors (e.g., charitable giving) and altering cognitive performance (e.g., visual search)….

… This watching effect increases self-awareness (Baltazar et al., 2014) and causes individual to consciously modify their behavior to increase compliance with social standards (Wedekind and Milinski, 2000; Milinski et al., 2002).

In other words, everyone becomes nervous when they know they're being watched. Makes sense. George Orwell predicted it.

I just re-read your post. It makes sense in the case of cops wearing body cameras. It's a good idea.

Hence why we have intranets. Those are not accessible from outside.
Exactly. State and/or Federal legislation would make it a crime to make unauthorized use of school recordings. Make it akin to child porn.

Airlines have voice recorders with each position mic’d and a general area mike. There’s a switch, but we leave it on all the time after powering up. There are strict rules on usage by both regulation and pilot union agreements.

Keep it “inside the family” at a school and it makes sense there too. The only time a recording would be released is during a criminal proceeding. Otherwise it’s a training and security system protected by law.

You’re a computer guy; you know if there’s 30 classrooms there won’t be 30 assholes in the ceiling watching. It’ll be automatic and digitally retrievable if necessary such as a complaint. If a teacher is having problems or as part of an annual review process, their recordings would be randomly selected and reviewed.

It’s a tool. Like any other tool, it depends upon how it is used that determines if it is good or not.

Exactly. But then again the question persists (leaningright asked that too), who are watching?

Right. If there's a complaint, the recordings would be pulled out and reviewed. As long as nobody's watching, I don't see any problem with it.

Right. It's a fine balance.

Yes!!! They need to teach their kids that the Earth is flat!
He’s an example an “expert” on Mount Stupid.

Fun fact: North Korea has an intranet and limits those selected graduate students/military officials from accessing outside for researches purposes.

Not much is known about North Korea’s intranet — the Internet-like system that links up libraries, universities and other organizations throughout the country but goes no further than the country’s borders.

Few foreigners get a chance to access it and delve into the websites and services it offers, but thanks to sharp-eyed Aram Pan and his DPRK360 Facebook page, we now know a little more.

The Singaporean photographer spotted this poster on the wall of the e-library in Rason in the country’s north east. It details some of the sites available from computers in the facility.

One of the most noticeable things is that the website addresses are in a numeric format. Computers use these numbers, called IP (Internet protocol) addresses, to route traffic. To make addresses easier to remember for humans, domain names were invented, but computers still take those and convert them to a numeric address uing DNS (domain name system).

DNS appears to be in use in North Korea. The North Korean Samjiyon tablet PC had several default bookmarks in its web browser that used domain names. But in many photographs from libraries and other institutions, desktop browsers appear to be using numeric address.

Sorry I am not in a condition to make a lucid post.

One of the saddest things I have ever heard of was when a foreigner came over to North Korea to set up the computer system. They all asked him about the Internet, HTML, Java, Javascript, URL and such.

Made me want to kill people.

Here are my thoughts I put on another thread a few weeks ago. I just copied the post from that thread and pasted it here. If you stay with it to the end you’ll see why I asked who would have access to the footage.

I agree that the option to view the footage is a sensitive one but I think it would be a valuable tool to help teachers prove class disruptions as well as respond to parents that claim teachers are teaching CRT by proving otherwise.
How the camera footage is distributed is above my pay grade but I will say I am strongly opposed to having it only viewed by the local school boards and teachers' unions.

Teaching CRT? Or teaching masks don't work? LOL

Why do you believe you have a right to look at other people's kids on video?

People who haven't supported the teachers' unions are all complicit in this atrocity.

In our current fifty state format, we're a center-right nation which means that we're a shithole nation.

The evidence keeps piling up.

I'll take your word for it, since I suppose it's based on personal experience.

Almost everything we learn is based on personal experience. I remember them in my rural grade school as little dummies, now grown into big dummies, those long, brutal days happily behind them. The Right side of this forum proliferates with them, some drawn by the foremost anti-intellectual of the era.

I have posted hundreds of examples over the years. Maybe thousands. And those are just the ones who got caught.
Teachers are fucked in the head

Proving, once again, that you are a fucking moron.

First, there's 3.6 Million teachers in the US. All are college graduates which puts them ahead of you. Yes, even the crazy one. Second, if just 1/1000th (0.001) of them are wackadoodles as Legion posted, then that still leaves 3600 wackadoodles teaching kids.

RW fuckwads have cut funding so much for so long that there is no money for improvements.

I love how you people think teachers are above question. This thread really does show how effective leftist indoctrination has been. No wonder America is so fucked up right now

What the alt-lefties^^^ don't want you to know.

Per pupil funding by state.

Average Private School Tuition Cost

Comparing Student Success in Public and Private Schools
Research has consistently shown that private school students tend to perform better in standardized tests. The National Assessment of Educational Progress, which is often referred to as “the nation’s report card,” assesses both public and private school students in subjects such as math, reading, science and writing. The most recent NAEP data shows what other research has found: Private school students score better in almost all subjects.

"You people" is more proof you're a fucking idiot. I support the cameras and support getting rid of unfit teachers. You're the dipshit idiot who wants to fire all teachers.
