With solar it's closer to 5 times not 3 like he says.
We are in favor of abolishing the ban on combustion engines. The consumer should be free to decide what cars they want to buy. The producers should be free to decide which cars they want to produce.

A wind turbine uses more "fossil fuel" energy in its construction, installation, maintenance, and eventual disposal than it saves in the whole of its working life.

Even in sunny areas, solar doesn't work. Roof top solar for residential just means you pay for 20 years of electricity today getting them installed. Don't buy the sales pitch on that either. The sales guy will include subsidies and tax breaks that just defer the cost elsewhere. Solar is a scam.

Hail can be an issue even though many panels are rated for some degree of impact protection. UV is an issue built into the panel by design. It's a big reason panels have a rated lifetime.
The bigger issues are the installers minimize the size of wiring, breakers, etc., to save a few bucks on the install but create problems for the homeowner down the road. I've had to redo more than one install because the wire was sized without consideration for heat in exposed conduit and the breaker was undersized for the load. Took one out that was so hot that 30 minutes later I still couldn't hold it in my bare hand. It kept tripping which is why the homeowner had me there.
Also, don't let the inverter get surged and die. Those things are $$$$$.
