Why is the army raising the enlistment age?

I mean they have been claiming "record level" of enlistments for over a year so why make a move that seems to be a bit desperate?

I mean the last time this happened it was because they were very short of people for active combat ops back in '06.

Are they anticipating a need for lots of cannon fodder soon?

Seems kinda worrying to me.

Is a draft next?
 
The United States Army has officially raised its enlistment age limit to 42 from 35 and eased restrictions for people with marijuana convictions, a move that comes years after a period in which it struggled to meet its recruitment goals and as the country is engaged

In the end the British Empire failed when Brits decided that they were no longer willing to fight and die for Empire.....which was for the benefit of the bankers not them.

Maybe America is getting there.

An army col. tried to get me to join when I was 40 last century . I thought he was joking but he was actually serious
 
I was watching a YouTube of a older Brit.....maybe 40.....who was long in the military and very good at it.....he said that the people who run the Rump of the UK are desperate to get guys like him to come back to rebuild the force to go to war with Russia.....

He was all "OH HELL NO!".......and he does not know of anyone else who is interested either.

They are getting ready for the meat grinder Iran will be if they invade. Iran has said they are preparing a million man army, ready for the invasion.
 
As a draftee myself, I believe in mandatory military service for non-conscientious objector males,
and mandatory government service for all able people of both sexes. (Sorry. I only recognize two, but whatever.)

Two years after the age of nineteen (or before or after college) is not an unreasonable requirement.
(My son volunteered before college.)
We all know that we need to be a better nation, right?
It doesn't happen by itself. We know that as well.

Service is not the problem.
Wars of choice when we're not actually existentially threatened--
THAT'S the real problem.

What we're doing right now is the real problem, and why don't we ALL realize that?
