SC(r)OTUS just made it legal again. You will remember many states ban it because it caused the suicide rate to jump to ridiculous numbers in young trans or homosexual people.

So we know it's dangerous.

The reason given? Religious freedom.

My question is if religious freedom can be used to justify harm, then whose freedom are we actually protecting? Because religious freedom should mean you should be able to practice whatever religion you choose, not that you can use the government to help you force it on someone else. Especially when it hurts them. Most especially when they're children.

They have no problem with health care professionals convincing young confused children who are mentally disturbed to cut off body parts so they can sacrifice to their trans gods.. But someone who is trying to help them is considered bad.

I'm of the opinion that conversion therapy, gender pronouns, or advocating transgenders on NCAA college swimming teams aren't going to win the Democratic party a a single election.

We are at an inflection point in history where the foundations of democracy are under imminent threat, and these kind of issues are not the hills I want to pick to die on. All that matters right now is winning elections and turning the tide back on fascism.

Agreed, but you can do that through the courts, you don't have to make it the fundamental basis of an election political campaign.

This isn't about any of that. It's about child abuse and that always matters.

I respectfully disagree. Human rights are an absolute fundamental and it can be a basis in a campaign in a way that stresses the right of woman, people of color and our LBGTQ minorities.

That is a matter of law enforcement and the courts.
I support ACLU and liberals pursuing this at the level of the judiciary.

Anyone who wants to make gender pronouns and transgender college athletes a major part of their political campaign is going to hand the election to fascists.
