What is the practical difference, Hormuz is blocked either way.

‘Just to return the strait back’ is the same kind of dishonest euphemism as saying the bin Laden raid was just a routine effort to improve neighborhood security.
None of Trump's other war goals were met. The regime did not collapse, freedom and liberty did not break out, the enriched nuclear material is still unaccounted for, Iran's support for proxies hasn't been eliminated, and Iran's ballistic missile program has not been dismantled.

Right now, you and Trump have us waging war just to get the strait back to the maritime navigational status it was before you started your war.

So you can't figure out why its better that we're blocking it and not Iran? Who gets through is as important as if you get through. I didn't think it was possible for you to get more stupid.
YOu have no answer, I understand, the undisclosed element.

The difference is that before Iran used to get some revenue such as when Trump made the dumb decision to lift sanctions on Iranian oil already in the sea. Now no ships get thru.

This blockade is ok but its not enough though. Its not going to force the IRGC to surrender. You need to go back to war and start destroying more infrastructure including the ports in the gulf so the fast attack boats have nowhere to sail out of.

Yes, there are ships going through, mostly Chinese. You can see that here:

Looks like two.

You saying the US lacked a “projection of power” prior to this? If anything, with Iran’s tenacity to hold on has tarnished our “projection of power”
America, and American alliances have shown to be toothless many times over

our founding documents are designed to not be an empire. anyone that studies war, and how to fight wars knows our weakness is our inability to maintain consistent long term views, which one would need to undertake regime change, and empire building activities

If the strait is not freely open to maritime navigation and maritime insurance companies are frightened off, then the situation is intolerable.

It's extraordinary that MAGA put us in a position to wage a war just to return the strait back to the maritime navigational status it was before Trump's War.
So if you were President how would you prevent Iran from getting nukes and ICBMs?

You have to watch it over time. That is, you look at the map like every 15 to 30 minutes. It updates as the tracking information is transmitted from each ship. If you sweep over any of the symbols, it will bring up a display on what ship it is and when its position was last reported.

So tell us how that ^ fits into the thread and the point of your post

Is that the normal amount? Or is it increased? Nobody claimed the Gulf was closed.
Global crude flows are increasingly redirecting toward the U.S. Gulf Coast.

A total of 172 crude oil tankers are currently en route to the region, reflecting a sharp increase in inbound volumes.

Don’t forget Iranian oil is no longer sanctioned.

Invade the country, boots on the ground, but you know that ain’t happening, Trump should have known it before he began the war, probably would have if he weren’t surrounded by his appointed loyalists who tell him what he wants to hear

it fits into being a direct reply to a twerp that asked me a sophomoric question
How exactly is (“You saying the US lacked a “projection of power” prior to this?”) a “sophomoric” question to your comment that blocking the straits is important because it projects American power?

How about weakening a regime so much that 80-90% of their population revolts against them and pushes them out of power.
