Trump was trying to persuade Germany not to build Nordstream 2, since the USA was paying more then it's fair share for NATO -and criticized Germany for not living up to NATO 2% target -while at the same time Germany was paying Putin for nat gas ( Nordstream 1 and for when Norsdstream 2 was done)

Ukraine has been trying to get into NATO especially since Zelensky replaced Poroshenko-
but even before Uk wanted in
Putin isn't causing oil prices to rise - OPEC ( and reduced US production) is
and Russia isn't even part of OPEC

NATO isn't going to touch Ukraine -even a full invasion is very doubtful.
western Europe doesn't want to get into a war between Russia and Ukraine no matter how far Putin goes
NATO will defend other NATO states, but if Putin even tries that it's a self-extermination move on his part and he isn't stupid
