There is a huge split in Trump’s core support between two groups: The old-fashioned Nazi-adjacent white nationalists who hate Jews, and the loony religious evangelical crusaders who hate Muslims.
Trump is not religious at all, and will take money from anyone.
The Hitler analogy is more because Hitler was first elected and then achieved an authoritarian dictatorship, inspiring a cult by playing on the base bigotry of the aggrieved and impoverished, stoking hatred of foreigners with propaganda blaming all of their reduced circumstances on foreigners and jews. Attacking and taking over the free press and the universities to concentrate and Nazi propaganda and crush dissenting voices.
Eventually ending democracy in favour of a brutal fascist dictatorship. Removing power from the elected officials and concentrating it in one man. Himself.
