Blue Wall Continues To Crumble Around Chauvin

Althea told me...
There goes the defense's whole case

Minneapolis police chief Medaria Arradondo is expected to take the stand as soon as today, as testimony in the Derek Chauvin trial continues for a second week.
Why it matters: The city's top cop will tell jurors that Chauvin's "conduct was not consistent" with MPD training and policies, per special prosecutor Jerry Blackwell's opening statement.
This should be interesting. The biased judge already denied the jury the knowledge that all involved in Floyd's murder have been fired.

I'll bet the prosecution is going to have to tiptoe around that during direct.

What will be interesting is how the ME responds when he takes the stand and the defense starts asking him about lack of damage or injury to the wind pipe and how, if Floyd was not able to breathe, he was able to continue talking.

Hello Althea,

There goes the defense's whole case

Wow. The jury won't know Chauvin got fired for killing Floyd?

Can't say that's not a fair trial if he is convicted.

Choking someone does not have to break anything, just shut it for 9 minutes. When he got off him, it was no longer plugged. He asked him to quit choking him until he could no longer talk.

I am all for effective policing but this was uncalled for. It served no purpose.

And look at all the backlash it caused.

Punishment is in order.

Why is that relevant? Telling them the force fired them means they believed the cops did things that were wrong. So if the department thought so, then the jury should.

The guilt of Derek Chauvin isn't really an issue, here.
We've got the murder on video to back up several live witnesses.

The issue is whether or not a Minneapolis jury will convict a racist murderer cop.

If Chavin were actually innocent, which given the evidence is totally impossible,
he'd have waved a jury trial because,
let's be honest,
the judge wouldn't screw up with a wrong decision. He's a PROFESSIONAL JURIST.

Chauvin's chance for acquittal depends on having deliberate jury nullification.

Here's the problem. Minneapolis already shelled out 26M in damages.
The state of Minnesota KNOWS DAMN WELL that Chauvin is guilty.
They'll go through three or four 11-1 mistrials until they get to a 12-0 conviction.

Chauvin needs a 12-0 acquittal.
I'd say that was impossible, except that other dirty cops have gotten them already.
Chauvin's actual penance may ultimately be imposed from outside of the justice system.

Who among us would lose sleep if he turned up floating in the St. Paul River?
Anybody?

Hello Althea,

What? I didn't know that. They were acquainted before that day?
Yes. They both worked security. I believe it was at a club of some sort. Floyd was a negotiator who never had to use his hands to break up a situation. Chauvin was an aggressive ass.

So you're saying it is relevant? Take it up with the judge.

I believe the word you are looking for is 'begged'.

The ER physician who tried to revive him testified that Floyd’s condition was consistent with oxygen loss.

I have little confidence that every juror will convict. As you stated, probably several times. When Chauvin walks, he will indeed end up a floater.

As he should.
