why do Trump's MAGA's think it's perfectly ok to beat capitol police with American flags but what Gwen did is an outrage?
Because they are fucking morons.

Almost all African-Americans have Euro-American blood in them. Ergo, dad, unless he's from Africa, is less than 100% "black" meaning Kap is over 50% "white"....for those playing that game*. I don't. Kap is no more black than Rachel Dolenzo....maybe less so. The difference is the culture in which they've been raised and choose to live.
*Same for Obama?
Actually I was going to mention Obama, given that both had white mothers and black fathers.
Kaepernick didn't choose to be adopted by a white family when he was five weeks old, so I don't know how he had a say-so in how he was raised and how the family chose to live. His adoptive family has talked about some of the issues that came from raising him in an all-white household, and how as Caucasian parents of a bi-racial child, they faced many uncomfortable stares, curious comments and criticism, especially while he was young. Here are pics of his siblings when children and adults. It couldn't have been easy for Colin and his family, given how nasty people can be about families like this.

Do you believe "race" is genetic or cultural?
A man-made construct.
She doesn't have a problem with the country...
She has a problem with you.
You are not the country. You are just some asshole on an anonymous message board, and the closest you've ever come to the Olympics is watching it in your father's basement, on his TV.
Agreed. Unfortunately, a construct that is being exacerbated by the very same people claiming they want to eliminate racism.

I believe it should be a neutral term for identifying groups, not comparing them in the sense that one is better than the other.
Rather than race, if we have to lump ppl into groups and put labels on them, why not identify them by continent of ancestral origin? Like "Asian," "African," "European," "North/South American," etc.?
Of course, if we go back far enough we're all African.
Identifying by continent of ancestral origin seems like a good idea. Not that it would stop people from saying "Europeans are better than Asians" or "Africans are better than Chinese" etc. Human nature and all that.![]()

Because they value symbols more than actual human beings.
Nations are the teams. Albeit some bitching(eg Ice Skating) , judges of competitions are fair. The rules are clear. What sporting event is more political than the Olympics? They keep score by gold silver and bronze medal according to each nation. That is run in the front of every sports section and many front pages. If you get fewer medals than the people want, it is a national crisis and people must be fired. Berry is not turning the Olympics political. The only problem is those in charge do not like her politics.

I don't remember making that claim?LOL. Love the analogy, disagree on its use.
We all have unalienable rights. Obviously including every right you mentioned. Where you and I seem to disagree is that you believe government provides those rights and I believe it's government that often takes those rights away.
