Economic sanctions.
Those don't work to well even in ideal situations, this isn't an ideal situation....

Petraeus maybe 3 years ago said "Yes the Chinese are building a lot of pretty good stuff for their military, yes they have aspirations, but it will take them 30 years to learn how to use it, we dont need to worry for awhile (paraphrase)".
Nope....for instance we just pulled our bombers out of Guam and back to North Dakota because they became sitting ducks, incapable of surviving long enough to fight, because the Chinese are getting very good very fast.
Do you remember this one?: "We dont need to worry about the Chinese, they are not capable of innovation".

Far too many of our elites dont seem to have the foggiest clue that the Chinese are coming for us....they seem to live in a Barney the Dino fantasy world where in the future we are all around the globe going to be hugging and caring for each other.
The Chinese never had any such ideas, which even the dimmest should have figured out by now....those that have not are willfully ignorant.....they have to be....there is no other way this could happen.

If we hadn't done sanctions and worked to bring Russia into the western economy (instead) -
China would not have so much sway over Russia economic needs.

Not sure if I agree with him on that; full blown military wars are obsolete as the human race would be in danger of becoming if we were to ever engage in a full blown war. I think it's a lose-lose scenario and as such a peaceful solution could be worked out if all three sides work together.

We're a month or so away from being unable to conduct any sort of war at all, and that situation will not improve in our lifetimes.
Well I don't necessarily agree w/ everything he lays out either, but I do believe it is a realistic possibility...... In fact the odds are in favor of it happening...
