Ongoing gas shortage leaves nearly 90% of DC pumps without fuel

Logistical quirks leave disproportionate share of D.C. gas stations dry

Michael Laris, The Washington Post 18 hrs ago

Gas is again flowing through the Colonial Pipeline from Texas, but lingering logistical quirks are still working their way through the distribution system, leaving an outsize share of District stations with no fuel or spotty supplies.

Local officials and industry representatives struggled to pinpoint exactly why the roughly 100 stations in the nation’s capital were so severely affected. Midday data from GasBuddy showed that two-thirds of the District’s stations were dry, a far larger share than in Maryland and Virginia.

Some experts had predicted that disruptions would last through this week, at a minimum, after the pipeline restarted Wednesday.

AAA said average national gas prices are up eight cents over the past week, to $3.04, the highest in six years.

Right!

It wasn't caused by any federal policy, any Biden policy, or any Democratic policy.

Caused solely by Colonial, just like I've been saying.

Thanks for validating my argument.

I don't recall stating otherwise.

Answer the question.

If consumers cannot obtain a commodity upon demand, is there a shortage of that commodity?

I don't recall stating otherwise.

You've been trying to sophist your way into pinning this on Biden, leftists, Democrats, or liberals.

So after six posts of you trying to do that, you're now finally admitting that it was Colonial and only Colonial who manufactured this shortage.

I don't recall stating otherwise.

Really? Because at the beginning of this thread, you were trying to pin this on Biden for some reason.

Depends how you define "shortage".

Access doesn't mean shortage.

Colonial cut off access; there was more than enough gas, they just weren't selling it.

It is not a gas shortage.

There was never a shortage of gasoline.

*COLONIAL* shut the pipeline down because the ransomware attacked their billing system.

So they shut down the pipeline, which was full of gasoline, because they couldn't bill anyone for the gas.

Err, when there is no gasoline available, there is a gas shortage. The reasons are irrelevant.

And I suppose you think apples and oranges are the same thing because they're both fruit.

Your standards are so low, they're resting on the floor.
